After careful consideration, I chose to purchase this 897 system for my home. I mainly purchased the system to listen to music with, but it makes movies sound great! I decided to purchase Yamaha after listening to my friends Yamaha receiver and I was blown away. His has been running 5 years strong and has no sign of slowing down. I particularly like to options which come pre-loaded into the receiver for watching sports, sci-fi, spectacular, adventure, gaming selections, pro logic, and the NEO option is awesome too. The only downside is the sub woofer, which technically is not a downside but a preference. I purchased this system bundle because of the air-play capabilities and the 10" sub which comes with the system. Now the sub is not bad, but after listening to my friends sub which he got on special, you will find that you need at least 200+watt sub for music enjoyment to be fully satisfied. The sub handles all rock music and movies just fine, there's no problem there. But if you intend to listen to music which is very bassy, then I suggest you up grade. I will upgrade to the YST-SW315 at a later point. Don't let this discourage you, the speakers kick ass and sound very clean. After all, Yamaha is a premium source for sound enjoyment.
